In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Mr Kiala said that Governor Alfred Mutua (Machakos) had no reason whatsoever to kill Ms Ndeti.

"Surely Governor Alfred Mutua has no reason whatsoever to trail Wavinya Ndeti," said Kiala.

Mr Kiala instead asked Ms Ndeti to accept that she lost the race to unseat Governor Mutua and instead asked her to work with the county boss.

Ms Ndeti early this week claimed that Governor Mutua was behind the death of her father just two days before she launched her campaigns in 2013.

She also argued that a car that resembles hers was shot on the same day she served Mr Mutua with court papers.

"My dad-100 years old-was shot just two days before I launched my gubernatorial bid in 2013. The day I served Mutua with court papers for my petition in 2013, my neighbours Range Rover which was similar to mine, was shot as they entered our gate," she wrote in a Facebook post.

Governor Mutua has already rubbished off the claims and asked the former MP to apologise.
