Days after a section of Kisii County ODM leadership backed Raila Odinga’s planned oath taking at Jacaranda Grounds, more leaders from Nyamira County have joined the bandwagon.
With some section of media denying reports that Odinga will be sworn-in, some ODM leaders insist that the function would pave way for democratization of the country’s electoral system.
“We fully back him and at Maanzoni, we agreed that for this nation to fight electoral injustices, we ought to swear him,” said Duke Masira, who also doubles as Nyamira Assembly Majority Leader.
Despite opposition’s determined plans to have a mega rally, the government has since banned the event adding that it would pave way for ‘insecurity’.
And Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has also added his weight to the debate adding that NASA will ensure Odinga takes oath.
“Should they have opened the servers, they as well know that we won in August. The only justice we can do to the people is swearing our leader,” he said.
Should he be sworn in, analysts say, the government can have a perfect opportunity to prosecute him for treason.
