A section of leaders from Gusii have come into the defense of embattled Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati, who has literally taken a break from national politics.
At the eve of October 26th controversial elections, Arati is accused of unleashing terror against communities from his constituency that participated in the poll at Kawangware area.
But miles at his Gusii home, more leaders have come out accusing the state of allegedly muzzling his rights through threats.
“We are aware that some people are threatening Arati. We cannot allow them to intimidate him just because of his political persuasion,” said Duke Masira, the Majority Leader Nyamira County.
Bogichora MCA George Abuga added: “We fully support Arati and those intimidating him should know that he belongs to a community that has been marginalized over years.”
For a long period, Arati has gone out of vicinity with a section of media reporting that he had taken an anticipatory bond over an impending arrest.
The outspoken second term MP is a close confident of ODM leader Raila Odinga, who at a rally in Kawangware, defended Arati from allegations that he was behind Kawangware mayhem.
