A section of leaders from Mwingi in Kitui County have condemned the attack on Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's Nairobi home on Tuesday night.
They included professionals and representatives from the county's business community.
Led by Mwingi professionals coordinator Campel Munyambu, the leaders said the alleged attack on Kalonzo’s home was a cowardly act.
They addressed the press in Mwingi on Thursday.
Munyambu said Kalonzo is a peace-loving leader and therefore the attack was not necessary.
"They knew very well that Kalonzo’s wife Pauline is sick yet they hurl a grenade at his home as well as spraying bullets? where have they buried their humanity? It’s disturbing to see the government consider a leader as less important. Where is their respect for our leaders? Kalonzo is known for peacekeeping,” Munyambu said.
Different leaders from all over the nation have continued to elicit mixed reactions following the attack at the Kalonzo’s Karen home.
A section of leaders believe that the scheme was meant to frustrate Kalonzo politically after he vowed to support Raila in the quest to liberate the nation from what they term as poor leadership.
