A section of leaders from Laikipia has dismissed calls by the opposition to swearing in Raila Odinga as the president.

The leaders have urged Kenyans to ignore the calls, saying they were efforts in futility, and that there is no reason to worry since there is a government in place.

Senator John Kinyua and Laikipia West Member of Parliament Patrick Mariru urged Kenyans to move on with their lives and concentrate on other issues affecting them.

MP Mariru said that the country needs to ignore Nasa's plan as it is a non-issue.

He said that Kenyans were tired of politics after the long electioneering period.

The leaders challenged the opposition leadership to engage the government and Kenyans on real issues that would also help the country move on instead of focusing on issues that could take the country backward.

Nasa remains defiant on undertaking the swearing-in of Odinga at the historic Uhuru Park grounds despite the Nairobi County government closing down the facility for renovations.
