Chief Justice David Maraga has yet again reignited debate on the separation of power between judiciary and executive, which is further creating animosity between the two entities.
On Thursday, Maraga accused Matiang'i of belittling courts, adding that their precedent could be dangerous to the country.
And a section of Nyamira MPs wants Matiang'i to respect the rule of law to avoid further backlash.
"No matter who you are, court orders must be respected. The CJ is absolutely right," said KitutuKitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose.
Nyamira Women Rep Jerusha Momanyi said, "As leaders, we must at all times appreciate the law. It creates peaceful coexistence within the countrycountry."
Early this year, the two leaders were embroiled in a war of words when Matiang'i referred to the judiciary as 'rotten'.
Their approach to issues has always attracted reactions from Nyamira leaders, where they hail from.
