Slightly a day after leaders from Gusii led by Ex-Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire warned against the ouster of Chief Justice David Maraga, more leaders have joined the bandwagon.
The second Chief Justice under the new constitution is facing eviction threats after a lawyer launched a petition against him.
Former Majority Whip in Nyamira Assembly Peter Maroro termed the move witch hunt and challenged Gusii MPs to join the debate.
"This is clear that the executive is fighting a diligent servant. Our leaders should come out and defend him no matter the consequences," he said.
Wiper National Chairman Victor Swanya said: "Executive is persistently attacking the judiciary. Leaders should come out and condemn this trend. The CJ should be respected."
Early this month, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, whi also hails from Nyamira, denied claims that he was behind the plot to ouster Maraga.
Some analysts have been contending that should Maraga be removed, he may be replaced by former AG Githu Muigai.
