Barely a week after a section of Jubilee MPs from Nyamira County denied claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta was interfering with Nyamira governorship petition, MCAs from the ruling party have joined the bandwagon.
Opposition MPs led by Ben Momanyi (Borabu) had claimed that Uhuru was influencing the petition in which Walter Nyambati of Jubilee had challenged John Nyagrama's victory.
"The president has nothing to do with the petition as he believes in the rule of law,' said Minority Whip, George Mosiori.
MPs Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba) and Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira County) had cautioned against drawing the president to county issues.
And nominated MCA Irene Sese challenged NASA leaders to respect court ruling no matter the beneficiary of the much anticipated ruling.
"We have gone to court before and there is nothing strange going on. Let the rule of law be respected without maliciously dragging the name of the president."
At Nakuru in October, NASA argued, Uhuru had insisted that he will ensure Nyamira petition is 'revisited'.
On Monday, High Court Judge James Makau had ruled in favour of Nyambati by ordering vote recount in 29 polling stations.
