A day after insisting that estranged lawyer Miguna Miguna was not deported out of the country, more leaders have demanded for his resignation.
In a heated debate on Tuesday, Matiang'i dismissed deportation claims, arguing that the lawyer was not within Kenya's jurisdiction.
"I did not deport him because he had not been admitted formally to the country. He was a passenger without documents," he said.
But in a rejoinder, a section of leaders from Nyamira have accused Matiang'i of lying over he matter, adding that he should be rendered unfit to serve.
"Those were pure lies. This was not the first time he was defying courts. He had refused to surrender Miguna before when he as in various Kenyan cells," said Timothy Bosire.
Borabu MP Ben Momanyi on his part said: "Miguna is a Kenyan and the minister should be sincere. All these other things are pure sideshows."
The outspoken minister had also accused Miguna of fraudulently obtaining Kenyan passport in 2009.
