A day after major political parties endorsed proposed change in the governance structure, more leaders have continued to dance to Raila Odinga's tune.
So divisive have been calls to change the constitution for a parliamentary system of government, that even DP William Ruto has come to condemn intended changes.
Two MPs from Nyamira who had initially backed Ruto's presidential bid, now want him to drop hard stand on constitutional changes.
"Our country has been undergoing a number of problems for years now. If the cure is changing the constitution, then the DP has no moral authority to reject," said Vincent Kemosi of West Mugirango.
Borabu MP Ben Momanyi demanded that Ruto joins calls to change the governance system or face the wrath of the people on the ballot.
"We cannot support someone who wants status quo to remain. He must come out and join the rest of the country," he said.
Besides Raila, both Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, Kalonzo Musyoka and KANU's Gideon Moi have backed the impending referendum.
Even though President Uhuru Kenyatta has remained mum on the matter, sources say his MoU with Raila was anchored on constitutional changes.
