President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision to withdraw Kenyan soldiers from the troubled South Sudan was ill-advised and uncalled for, North Mugirango MP Charles Geni has said.
The Head of State ordered the withdrawal of the Kenyan-UN attached soldiers’ last recently citing lack of respect after UN boss Ban Ki Moon relieved Lt. Gen. Mogoa Ondieki of Kenya over lack of leadership.
In an interview with the reporter on Friday, Geni said the move was a blow to humanity and detrimental to Kenya’s international policies.
“The president missed the point and his decision was ill advised and uncalled for. He should have given the idea the second though and that makes him look an amateur in international relationship,” he said.
“We are having a population of innocent people dying at the neighboring country and as good neighbors; we must be our brother’s keepers. This would severely impact on our international relations,” he said.
The ODM MP also termed the move ‘panic’ from a one term Head of State and questioned the President’s masterly of international policies.
“This was panic of a one term president and I think Kenyans have seen it. We cannot allow people with little ideas on international relations lead us,” he said.
