The war against corruption seems to have yet again taken a new dimension as cracks intensified within Jubilee administration over the method to be used to nab culprits.
A camp supporting handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga has backed the president's radical measure on lifestyle audit, which has been rejected by those allied to DP William Ruto.
"We can no longer hide from this war. People are losing jobs just because of corruption. Lifestyle audit will help regulate this," said Wiper Vice Chair Victor Swanya.
At a fundraiser, former North Mugirango MP Charles Geni insisted that the president should not back down on lifestyle audit, adding that culprits should be jailed.
"If at all you never stole then there is no need to tense. Come out in open and declare what you own. Those who are scared could be terrorists of economic crimes."
Over the weekend, Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi, questioned Uhuru's move to call for lifestyle audit as Ruto's camp came out guns blazing over the move.
In his statement, Sudi suggested that the audit should also target Uhuru's family which is widely mentioned in TJRC report.
"I support the audit but if at all its genuine, then people like Jomo Kenyatta should not be spared. Let the audit bring everyone on board," he said in protest.
