More leaders have sent their messages of condolence to the family and friends of the late Kenyan-born US Professor Calestous Juma.
Juma who died on Friday, 15 December was a proffesor at Havard University.
In his twitter account Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta termed the late Juma as a distinguished and dedicated scholar and patriot and a courteous individual who was always ready to offer his help to those who sought it.
''I have learnt of the death of Professor Calestous Juma with profound dismay. We have lost one of our most distinguished scholar and patriot,'' said the head of state.
''Those who had the pleasure of meeting him-or communicating with him online and off-will testify to his warmth, his love of learning and his great generosity. Whoever you were, he replied quickly and courteously, eager to let you benefit from his learning and experience. We will miss him,'' he added.
On his side, Senate Leader of Majority Kipchumba Murkomen hailed him as brilliant scholar.
''I have no words to eulogize Prof. Calestous Juma. He was a goant in the field of Science, Technology and Sustainable Development,'' said the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator.
Juma who had been reportedly ailing for some time, died while recuperating at a Boston Hospital.
