Speaking on Radio Citizen Wednesday, Aukot who emerged second in the October 26 presidential contest whose victor was President Uhuru Kenyatta, branding himself the ''Opposition Leader'', poked holes into the push, terming it as a plot to satisfy a few individuals at the expense of Kenyans.

''The ones pushing for a constitutional amendment are not in any way considering Kenyans' well being but are out to satisfy their individual political interests and that of their bosses,'' he said.

The proposal which was tabled by Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket seeks to further expand the executive and has since been adopted by a section of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led National Super Alliance (NASA) opposition block.

However, according to Aukot who is pushing for another amendment aimed at reducing the number of elective representatives dubbed ''Punguza Mizigo'', the new push will be disadvantageous to the taxpayer who is already overworked as a result of sustaining the current overrepresentation.

He advised the leaders pushing for the realization of the referendum bid to instead concentrate on serving Kenyans according to their election promises.

''What leaders should concentrate on now is service delivery. Kenyans should be able to take note of leaders who are veering off the track and hold them responsible upon the end of their tenure,'' he added.
