National Cohesion and Integration Commission chair Francis Ole Kaparo is the latest leader to urge President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga to dialogue.Speaking on Thursday, Kaparo said that the hard by the two leaders might plunge the country into chaos.“We are appealing to the political leaders and their supporters to explore alternative means of resolving the issues at hand. We urge the government and opposition to act with openness, sobriety, and tolerance in addressing the source of the current impasse,” said Kaparo.He was speaking during a press briefing on the current political situation in the country where the repeat presidential election has divided the two main political outfits.Kaparo noted that it was time for the political leaders to act and reach out to each other for the sake of the country.“Our leaders need to agree whether they want to follow the rule of the law or that of the jungle, it is very imperative for Kenyatta and Odinga to embrace talks,” said Kaparo.Kaparo warned that the hard-line stances taken by the politicians would further divide the country.“A polarized Kenya is a road for endless mistrust, hostility, and economic retrogression. That is the road we must not travel,” said Kaparo.
