Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa has been the latest leader to weigh-in on the ongoing row between Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and a section of the ruling Jubilee Party leadership, throwing his weight behind the Governor.
Sonko has since been threatened of a possible impeachment sponsored by Jubilee, with the party Deputy Chairman David Murathe noting that he has failed in his responsibilities, shaming the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led bloc.
According to Aladwa, however, the county boss should be given more time to deliver on his election promises and not rushed as he has only been in power for a short time.
Speaking on Radio Jambo Saturday, the former Nairobi Mayor further called upon the party to cease interrupting Sonko's operations, accusing it of disrupting him.
''Sonko was elected by Kenyans and not the Jubilee Party and it is only Kenyans who have the power to judge him basing on what he has done for the city. He should not be interrupted but given time to work,'' said the opposition lawmaker.
On the other hand, he advised the Governor to embrace oneness in his operations for better results.
''The Governor must also embrace team work. The city is big and he has to embrace others for smooth operations and quick service delivery,'' he added.
