The war against graft seems to be dividing leaders from across the political divide even as president Uhuru Kenyatta instructed NIS to take over,
On Saturday, DP William Ruto through his confidant Oscar Sudi, seems to question the move by Uhuru to call for lifestyle audit.
"I think the president is right of lifestyle audit. But before he starts it, let us first revisit his father Jomo," said Sudi, in outright condemnation of the move.
Already, over 20 people suspected to have stolen Sh9 billion for NYS, are still in jail awaiting for determination of their cases.
Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has backed Uhuru's drastic measures adding that Ruto should come clean on his 'ill-gotten' wealth.
"The guilt are always afraid but we cannot allow Ruto or his henchmen to sabotage the president. He should come out clean instead of hiding," he said.
Wiper chair Victor Swanya added: "We must all justify our lifestyle and there is nothing wrong with what the president has ordered."
Separately, a group of Jubilee MPs led by Kitutu Masaba's Shadrack Mose have poked holes in the impending lifestyle audit, reading malice in it.
"It is difficult to use that method to fight graft. We should instead stick to polygraph test," he said on Saturday.
