For weeks now, Ruto has literally pitched tent in Gusii, a region with an estimated voter population of 1 million people.

And Wiper politician Victor Swanya now says the movement will not 'see light' in Gusii adding that Ruto has no agenda for the residents.

"We cannot be hoodwinked by someone who has been implicated in corruption scandals. The movement will crumble badly," he said.

Ex-Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire added: "As ODM, we shall ensure that his attempts to make inroads collapse. He does not have an agenda for the people."

But Nyamira Women Representative Jerusha Momanyi said that has come for Kenyans to support Ruto because he does not belong to dynasties.

"He is a fair leader and I am sure if given an opportunity he will perform well. His movement is quite welcome."
