A section of Nyamira leaders have sent well wishes to ailing ODM governor John Nyagarama who was flown to US on Friday for specialised treatment.
For weeks now, the 74-year-old governor remained indisposed before surrendering powers to his deputy Amos Nyaribo.
"I will be away from 10th May 2018 for medical check up in the US. You are advised to take over but limit powers to article 179(5)," read the letter.
Family sources say that the governor is currently in ICU in a US hospital where doctors are expected to treat his failing limbs.
And at home, politicians have been urged to shun succession battles but instead focus on service delivery.
"I wish the governor quick recovery. This is not the time when we are supposed to politic. Let us pray for his family," said Victor Swanya.
ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire said: "We wish him quick recovery. Those in charge should focus on service delivery."
Already, a section of leaders are accusing Nyaribo of exercising powers beyond his limits following dismissal of County Secretary Eric Onchana on Thursday.
