A notification sent to all airlines, of which Qatar Airline has since made it public, indicates that Immigration Department has already made mind on Miguna's fate.

"Per the update received from Kenyan authorities, Miguna Miguna is not permitted to enter Kenya and he has been blacklisted by the authorities," read the notification.

But his latest predicaments have elicited sharp reactions from among political elites, who now think the government has 'lost credibility'.

ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire accused authorities of 'losing track' by continued diversionary tactics instead of focusing on fight against corruption.

"Miguna is a Kenyan by birth and they destroyed his passport. We have court orders for his return. The government has lost credibility and it is now dealing with non issues," he said.

Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said: "We have mega corruption scandals which should be dealt with yet these people are just focused don harassing a Kenyan."

Last week, Miguna cancelled his long awaited second return to the country after authorities failed to facilitate his journey.

Immigration PS Gordon Kihalangwa, who was convicted of court contempt, insists that Miguna must apply afresh for Kenyan citizenship.
