Raila Odinga's decision to push constitutional amendment has yet again elicited sharp reactions from among political elites.
On Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta rebuked planned constitutional amendments, insisting that the country is more focused with service delivery.
But at Mombasa, Raila insisted that he shall continue with his mission adding that the status quo would continue to discriminate minorities.
"I fully support Raila's constitutional drive. For small communities to thrive, we need to amend the law," said Timothy Bosire, ex-Kitutu Masaba MP.
Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said: "For unity to prevail, we need to re-look on these laws. This is the time to fix such discrepancies."
But North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko said such changes would derail development in the country.
"We we need perhaps is changes that cannot subject us to constitutional amendment in a referendum," he said.
