A day after President Uhuru Kenyatta indirectly faulted his deputy William Ruto over fight against graft, more leaders have reacted to the same.
While presiding over commissioning of projects in Mombasa, Uhuru told off Ruto's allies who claim that graft war is a wider scheme to tame Ruto's presidential ambitions.
"I am not after anyone. Corruption does not have a tribe. When you steal, you do it alone and you must carry your own cross," said Uhuru.
Among those who have faulted Uhuru's graft war include outspoken Nandi senator Simon Cherargei who has even threatened to 'expose' Uhuru's kitchen cabinet.
But in Nyamira, ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire has tasked Ruto to come open and dismiss his allies if at all he is committed to fight graft.
"He can't hide in busybodies and claim that he is committed. The president is right and its time Ruto also comes out clear and helped in this war," he said.
However, Borabu politician Patrick Osero says the war against graft is choreographed to taint Ruto's image ahead of 2022 polls.
"They have already shown what they are after. This war is not genuine and we must rebuke it. The president knows that it is just political witch-hunt," he said.
Some of parastatals closely associated with Ruto's allies that are under investigations include Kenya Power, Kenya Pipeline and NCPB.
Already, the government has unleashed on NYS suspects who are believed to have defrauded the country over Sh9 billion.
