Hours after a surprise move by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to nominate lawyer Miguna Miguna as his deputy, more leaders have lauded the move.
While Miguna has remained mum over the move that saw his lawyer Cliff Ombeta pick the letter, Nairobi Speaker Beatrice Elachi insists that Miguna ought to apply for a valid passport.
And in Nyamira, local leader joined the bandwagon with a number of them lauding Sonko for 'intelligent decision'.
"It is all about building bridges and Sonko's move is a good gesture to handhsake. All leaders should support his decision," said Wiper Vice Chair Victor Swanya.
Ex-North Mugirango MP Charles Geni said: "As Kenyans, we should support Sonko for such an intelligent move. Those opposing it should think twice."
On Wednesday, Miguna postponed his second return to the country after deportation following the government's delay in handing him over a valid Kenyan passport.
Top Jubilee leaders are yet to react to the surprise appointment which was confirmed by Ms Elachi even though sources indicate that it was done out of protest by Sonko.
In recent weeks, the Jubilee governor has been accusing Office of the President of allegedly sabotaging his service delivery.
