A section of leaders from Nyamira County have termed resignation of three IEBC commissioners as null, void and inconsequential.
In an interesting twist of events at Anniversary Towers, Connie Maina, Paul Kurgat and Margaret Mwachanya hanged their boots in what they termed as 'lack of leadership' from chairman Wafula Chebukati.
But the resignation has been dismissed by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi and Nyamira Majority Leader Duke Masira, who termed the move as 'insult' to Kenyans.
Masira said: "I expected these fellows to resign when they bungled presidential elections. It is funny that they are resigning because CEO was kicked out. It is inconsequential."
And the firebrand Borabu MP said the three commissioners should present themselves before police stations for 'crimes against humanity'.
"In fact, they should be in jail by now. Instead of shouting on top of their lungs, we expected them to resign long time ago. They are all incompetent and should not blame one person."
Chairman Wafula Chebukati denied receiving resignation letter from the trio and dismissed their allegations as 'propaganda' after losing a vote in the plenary.
Last year, the opposition lost bid to kick out the commissioners even after one of them, Roselyn Akombe bowed out over alleged interference by outsiders.
