After weeks of protracted electioneering period, Raila has since reconciled with Uhuru even though his role remains unclear.

But a section of leaders led by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi says Raila's presence in government would help Uhuru leave a good legacy.

"Amending the constitution is no longer optional. Our country has been facing exclusivity in subsequent governments. Raila should be brought on board," he said.

Kitutu Chache South's Richard Onyonka said: "We should all stand by Raila. He should be appointed as PM."

Raila has attended high profile functions including Labour Day, which he boycotted for several occasions in the past years.

But ever since his reconciliation with Uhuru, he has often maintained that he is not after any formal employment.
