A section of leaders from Gusii region have continued to reaffirm their support on embattled Chief Justice David Maraga, who is under immense pressure from Jubilee party.
On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta's party, in a letter to Maraga, accused the Judiciary of allegedly favouring NASA coalition.
"No body leave alone is absolutely independent. Your actions last year almost threatened to plunge the country into chaos," read the letter.
Prior to the statement, Ex-Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire and his North Mugirango counterpart had warned against intimidation targeting Maraga.
And Wiper Vice Chairman Victor Swanya accused the state of witch-hunt and demanded respect to the judiciary.
"The judiciary must be respected whether you agree with it or not. Uhuru should treat carefully when addressing matters justice.
Nyamira Majority Leader Duke Masira wrote: "We stand with elder Maraga during this trying moments."
Although Uhuru is yet to speak lately, the statement by his party indicates tough times for the judiciary in coming days.
Last week, youth leaders from across Nyamira condemned CS Fred Matiang'i for allegedly antagonising Maraga courts.
