County Women Representative,  Mary Mbugua, said the money would be distributed equally to the eleven sub-counties.

Addressing the press in Nakuru town , the Women Rep said her office had set-up vetting committees comprising of nine members in each of the sub-counties to certify that only needy students benefitted.

She urged the vetting committees to ensure that poor students earlier allocated funds by the CDF, church or other organizations were not again assisted through her kitty and warned the vetting committees against corruption and nepotism.

“This is a cosmopolitan county and all needy children must be assisted irrespective of their tribe,” she said.

She challenged students being educated through public money to not only work hard but go an extra mile and assist others in the future.
