President Uhuru Kenyatta's move to disown constitutional changes continues to elicit sharp reactions from among elites even as ODM leader Raila Odinga blamed William Ruto in the latest twist.
At Nyamira, Jubilee MPs Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba) and Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira County) insisted that the country should pave way for referendum to change leadership structure.
And West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi has joined the calls for referendum even after differing with Raila during post election crisis.
"We must agree that something is not working and we should not do things same way. This is the time to bring the country together and that can be done through referendum.
"The parliamentary system of government will solve most of these issues. It time we come out and push for it," he said on Monday.
Similarly, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, who has been pushing for Ruto's presidency, has said that unity can only be realised through constitutional amendment.
While ODM is pushing for referendum, A section of Jubilee leaders led by Ruto have vehemently opposed the move.
