Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama and his Kisii counterpart James Ongwae have joined their colleagues in defending Raila Odinga's secret pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Despite the historic union between the duo, criticism from NASA co-principals have thrown Raila into a limbo with sources indicating that Monday's meeting did not yield fruits.
But Nyagarama, who is serving his second term said: "Raila was right to meet his rival for the sake of unity. We all want dialogue and he opened floor for the same."
On his part, Ongwae said the move would pave way for development which he claims had stalled due to bitter rivalry.
"He (Raila) didn't need a permission to meet his rival. Let us appreciate this tremendous occasion in our political history instead of castigating them."
Others who have lauded Raila's move include: Cyprian Awiti (Homa Bay), Amoth Rasanga (Siaya) and Sospeter Ojamoong (Busia).
For now however, details of the MoU between the duo remains scanty with sources indicating that a grand coalition government could be in making.
