The letters will be written after the party's disciplinary committee has heard cases for 13 party officials who have hinted at decamping or have already left the party.

The 13, including two governors, a deputy governor and ten MPs will face the disciplinary committee on Friday October 14.

"Those who have already received the letters will face the committee on Friday," former Parliament Speaker Farah Maalim told journalists in Nairobi on Friday.

"The others will receive the letters thereafter."

Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba, he said will receive the summons and will be tasked to explain why he should not be deregistered as a party member after decamping to the newly launched Labour Party of Kenya.

ODM has indicated that those who have decamped should prepare for by-election.
