Slightly two days after a cow gave birth to a calf with five legs, residents of Nyamira have taken to social media to link the incident to witchcraft.
According to Paul Ongaro, his cow never showed any signs of complications thus being caught by surprise.
"It was under constant monitoring and did not show any sign of complications. I am really disturbed with what I saw," he said.
But in Kitutu Masaba WhatsApp group, a number of residents linked the miraculous incident to witchcraft despite experts having termed it a 'genetic disorder'.
Wilson Misati said: "It is funny that a few meters from the area, another cow gave birth to a calf with two heads. This is pure witchcraft."
Another users Samson Oganda added: "Our people should disengage from witchcraft. These things cannot happen by coincidence."
However, Egerton University lecturer Bitange Richard said the incident was not anonymous adding that it was just a genetic disorder.
"There is nothing unusual with that. It is just a genetic disorder which is common in animals and human beings."
