Michael Wainaina, who contested as an Independent presidential candidate has submitted an application to be apart the petition submitted to the Supreme Court by National Super Alliance (NASA).

According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Wainaina garnered 9,257 votes in the recently conducted August 8 general elections.

Wainana claims that it would be unfair for him not to be included in the petition despite not being associated with any of the involved political parties.

In similar news Thirdway Alliance's Ekuru Aukot put in an application to join the petition on Friday.   

He echoed NASA leader Raila Odinga's claims that there were several electoral malpractices and lauded the coalition for involving the Supreme Court.

"The election was not free and fair especially on the polls transmission software," he said as reported by The Star.

According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Aukot managed to garner  27,311 votes leaving him in fifth position out of eight.
