Barely a day after Embakasi East member of parliament Babu Owino was arrested over his alleged insults against presidents Uhuru Kenyatta, political and religious leaders have mount pressure on Babu to apologise.
Anglican Church of Kenya Kisii Diocese Bishop Edward Manoti has called upon the youthful lawmaker to apologise and respect the Head of State.
Reacting to the incident the bishop said it is wrong for any person to directly or indirectly assault the president because he is the symbol of unity in the country.
“Babu should respect the president and we expect him to send his apology so that Kenyans can move on,” he said.
He is among many leaders who have called upon Owino to apologise.
He was speaking on Monday after visiting the ailing former councilor Kevin Nyambega.
