Thika town county representative, Kennedy Mwangi has said that a legislation be introduced that will require those venturing into alcohol brewing business to deposit Sh50 million with Nacada. This money, Kennedy says, will ensure that brewers become responsible as well as keeping off rogue brewers from the industry."Just like the banks deposit some money with the Central Bank to pay members if they collapse, it should be the same case with brewers", the MCA said.He added, "The money will then be used to compensate anyone who suffer from their products instead of the government using taxpayers' money".He was speaking at Thika town on Thursday supporting Kiambu governor's stand against illicit brew and harmful alcohol being sold in Kiambu County.
