A section of Members of Parliament allied to the opposition National Super Alliance are now calling for the immediate resignation of IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati.
This follows the mind resignation of three commissioners who cited lack of trust in Chebukati.
Following the resignation of three on Monday, the commission has no quorum to conduct any business.
Lugari's Ayub Savula has said that due to lack of quorum, the remaining commissioners should follow suit and quit.
"The remaining three commissioners lack quorum and should follow suit and allow for a new well-constituted commission to be formed. We were always right as NASA when we boycotted the repeat presidential election in October and called for electoral reform,” said Savula.
Savula who is the NASA parliamentary group leader stated that the August 8 polls were not conducted in the right manner.
"The Supreme Court had ruled that the August 8 election was not conducted well and the responsibility had fallen squarely on the IEBC team that refused to step down," said Savula.
A fallout emerged in IEBC after chair Wafula Chebukati suspended CEO Ezra Chiloba on the grounds of procurement irregularities.
