Kisii based civil society has piled more pressure to the embattled IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba to step down willingly to ensure the public regains confidence in the commission.

The group identified as United for Kenya said that the CEO was the point man in the recently concluded election and there was a need for him to obey the will of the people and resign.

Led by their chairperson Edward Kenagu in a press briefing on Friday at a Kisii hotel the group said that their research has singled out Chiloba as the problem in IEBC.

“There is no need to wait for the full ruling from the Supreme Court when we know that he was involved in bungling the elections,” he added.

He added that the political tension in the country is caused by him and there is a need to ensure that he respects the voice of men.

“We call upon both political divides to stop intimidating IEBC and let Chiloba walk home at peace and let Kenyans choose their president at peace,” he added.

This comes after signs Chiloba maintained he is still the CEO.
