A section of Kisii residents has asked Kisii County MCAs to move with speed and table a motion to impeach the assembly speaker David Kombo.

Residents said the assembly will not be left in the hands of a corrupt speaker who is ready to embezzle public funds.

"Kombo was the mess at the county public service board and the same problem has been moved to the county assembly. How can a speaker lead MCAs and other county staff to misuse public funds? Impeachment is the best option," said Elijah Gwaro.

Patricia Mogire said Kombo has turned the assembly to be an anarchy system.

"It is just a few months since he took over the post and already he has proved to be corrupt. We can't risk having him serve the people of Kisii county for five years," said Mogire.

Jared Onchari said the speaker needs to be impeached because he has failed.

"Kombo should be impeached because he has proved himself corrupt. The county has no water with very poor street lighting while some workers are embezzling funds. It's worth noting that ever since the county governments were established, no tender has ever been advertised in any newspaper for competitive bidding. Only MCA's are awarded or their proxies," said Onchari.

At least 45 MCAs led by Sensi ward MCA Paul Angwenyi have shown interest to impeach Kombo saying the speaker has divided the ward representatives.
