Nyamira County governor John Nyagarama is under pressure to resign.Former Nyamira County gubernatorial aspirant Walter Nyambati on Monday claimed that Nyagarama’s administration hired workers who forged academic documents.
“Over 30 unqualified people who forged academic documents have been working in the county under the leadership of Nyagarama until recently when they were sacked.
"Nyagarama’s government has been paying the illegal workers money which could have been used to fund various projects in the county," he said.
Nyambati said he is ready to take over the leadership of the county because he is development oriented.
"The victory of Nyamira people was stolen during the last year’s polls and this is the reason we are seeing corruption in the county and people being hired without following legal procedures. Nyagarama and his Deputy Amos Nyaribo must resign,” he noted.
He said over 30 workers who have been siphoning money as salaries from the county must be arrested and be taken to court to be charged over forgery of academic documents.
Nyambati challenged MCAs to impeach Nyagarama if they are the true representation of the electorates.
