Barely two months after a section of youths endorsed her, a group of elders from Kitutu Masaba constituency have joined the bandwagon.

Led by elder Kerauni Manwa, the elders insisted that the county will be able to fight corruption and maladministration challenges should Akombe run for governor.

"She has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills which are rare across the country. Her honesty and integrity makes her fit for gubernatorial job.

"As elders, we plead with her to come back home and work for us. The last six years have been eclipsed by corruption, nepotism and clan antagonism," he added.

Last year, Akombe quit her IEBC job for US and subsequently authored a damning report in which she accused the Wafula Chebubaki led commission of bias.

The county government of Nyamira under the leadership of Governor John Nyagarama is also accused of leap services to the citizenry.
