With an impending political impasse in the country, a section of leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta wants him to dialogue with opposition leader Raila Odinga.

While Uhuru insists that he will take part in October 26th elections, Odinga has already withdrawn out of the race, calling for more reforms in the electoral body.

Led by Kabando wa Kabando, the leaders challenged the leaders to come together for the sake of peace in the country.

“Time has come to unite this nation for the sake of our children. WE have only one Kenya and there is no need of dismantling it,” he said.

Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua said: “They should pick their phones and call each other. They have done that before. If their need us, we are ready to help.”

Also calling for dialogue were William Kabogo and Kilemi Mwiria, all close associates of President Uhuru Kenyatta despite losing elections.

At Murang’a on Saturday, a defiant Uhuru maintained that he was not ready for talks with the opposition adding that his opponents should run for elections.
