Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama will now have to spend sometime in the US for treatment after he was diagonised with failing limbs.
Prior to Kakamega devolution conference, the ODM county boss delegated his duties to his deputy Amos Nyaribo, who has temporarily been acting on his behalf.
And on Thursday, Nyagarama officially handed over to Nyaribo, a move that has elicited reactions on various social media platforms.
"I wish the governor quick recovery. I believe the deputy will guide us well throughout his absence," said Nelson Ondieki and Borabu Watchtowers.
Another user , Jackson Ratemo said: "It is trying moments for us as a county but we wish him all the best as he fights for his health."
But before he flew out, the governor failed to quell a storm in which the deputy reportedly sacked County Secretary Erick Onchana, in a letter reportedly bearing a fake signature of the governor.
When reached on phone, Nyaribo denied forging the letter, adding that it was the governor who exercised his authority.
"I am aware the County secretary was relieved off his duties. It has nothing to do with me," he said.
