Father Paul Ogalo was suspended for at least a year for rapping and asked to think whether he is interested in rapping or evangelising.

The suspension has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans.

Here is a sample of what the residents of Garissa had to say about the suspension:

''I think the suspension was ill-advised. He was preaching in an appealing manner to the young folks,'' Korane Bule.

''Rapping to me is secular. It should not be used in places of worship,'' Mumina Galgalo said.

''This was simply wrong. They should have allowed him to do his thing. That's what young folks want,'' Salim Warsame said.

''I am disappointed with the church. The decision to suspend him was harsh and wrong,'' James Onyango, a Christian who lives in Garissa said.
