Political analyst Ambrose Weda has said that Baringo Senator Gideon Moi was heavily behind Deputy President William Ruto's recent embarrassment in retired President Daniel Moi's Kabarak home.
Speaking on KBC English Service Wednesday Morning, Weda claimed that the plot was aimed at humiliating the DP as Gideon seeks his most needed political relevance in the vote-rich Rift Valley region.
He said the Senator is using Ruto for political mileage.
''Gideon was most likely the force behind the botched meeting and was banking on it to humiliate the Deputy President. He now has control of his old father whom he can advise on who to and not to meet and might have advised him to not meet Ruto despite being under the same roof,'' said Weda.
''He is using the DP to build himself politically as he knows that Ruto is more established than him. He is emulating Ruto, President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga who built their political careers by defying his father Daniel Moi when he was President,'' he added.
Ruto has, however, remained mum on the unfortunate event as his allies and Moi's side trade attacks.
