[Photo/citizentv.co.ke]More details on the IEBC's chair Wafula Chebukati memo addressed to the commission's CEO Ezra Chiloba have emerged.According to a statement sent on IEBC's official twitter account on Thursday, five commissioners out of seven disowned the memo saying the contents of the said memo were not discussed and sanctioned by the commission plenary. However, two of the five commissioners have distanced themselves from the statement hours after it emerged.Commissioner Paul Kurgat said he was not consulted on the statement.“I was not consulted or briefed on the statement attributed to IEBC commissioners and sent to the news rooms this evening. I encourage my colleagues to make use of our internal mechanisms and opportunities. I had Fruitful discussions this evening with Bishop Alfred Rotich at Waumini house during which the statement was released, said Kurgat, Thursday, as quoted by Standard.Another commissioner, Margaret Mwachanya, through a statement said she was not part of the commissioners who wrote the letter."It has come to my attention that a purported Memo is going rounds online and on mainstream media to the effect that I, Margaret Mwachanya, alongside four other commissioners, have dismissed an earlier Memo by the Chairman Mr. Wafula Chebukati to the CEO, Mr. Ezra Chiloba. I am NOT among the authors of the purported document. Neither the hatcher of the idea, said Mwachanya, Thursday.
The other three commissioners, vice chairperson Consolata Nkatha Maina, Yakub Guliye and Boya Molu are yet to comment on the letter.
