Area police boss Timothy Mwasia confirmed the incident and said armed bandits raided a homestead in the village and escaped with the three cattle.

“Armed bandits raided a homestead in the village at around 2 am on Sunday and escaped with 3 cattle but the family members who realized that the cattle had been stolen raised alarm to attract residents who later notified police officers,” said Mwasia.

The OCPD said police immediately launched a search and found the cattle abandoned at Ritigo area after bandits realized police were in their pursuit.

“The animals were abandoned on the road at Ritigo area by the criminals who fled in fear of police arrest. The owner is happy since police helped in getting back the 3 cattle,” he said.

He assured that police have launched manhunt to arrest the bandits.
