The structures were demolished along Umardin club and Gusii road even as a section of leaders from Nakuru condemned Governor Kinuthia Mbugua's administration for disobeying a court order.

The Nakuru Street Traders and Hawkers Association NASTHA under the chairmanship of Simon Sankale ole Nasieku will today be filing an application in court for the contempt by the governor.

Last week, Justice Abigael Mshila extended an order barring the county government from evicting the traders pending hearing of the case filed by NASTHA tomorrow.

Meanwhile, more than 200 anti-riot police officers are keeping vigil at NASHA Square which used to be a terminus for Matatus plying the Langalanga and Free Area until it was taken over by hawkers who subdivided it on Sunday night.

Hundreds of hawkers have been left without an alternative area to operate from as only 1,000 were accommodated in the former matatu terminus.

The fate of Public Service Vehicles that used to ply the two routes remains unknown as the county government is yet to legally designate other areas from where they can operate from.
