NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has been on the receiving end from opposition supporters after missing out the Tuesday controversial swearing-in of the opposition coalition at the Uhuru Park.
However, despite coming out to defend himself and two other principals over what he termed as lack of security for them, opposition supporters can take none of that and continue to call the former vice president a 'watermelon'.
Speaking today in an interview on a local radio station, Makueni County governor Kivutha Kibwancame to the defense of his party leader, revealing new information regarding his absence in the highly publicised swearing-in event.
"Kalonzo is a good leader who wants the very best for the Kenyan people and the Kamba people. This is not the first time he is facing abuse from partners and rivals alike," said Kibwana.
Kibwana further revealed that there had been some consultations that were yet to be resolved among the NASA leader before the swearing-in took place.
"NASA leaders were still deliberating on the oath wording and how it would be administered but they were unable to meet to resolve the issue for fear of being nabbed," said Kibwana," he added.
However, Kibwana termed the misunderstandings as wrinkles that can be ironed out and make NASA more stronger.
"There are wrinkles in NASA that need to be ironed out first especially the distribution of leadership posts in Parliament and NASA's technical team. We need respect," he said.
