Cracks seem to be widening in the National Super Alliance (Nasa), after Kalonzo Musyoka said he could not wait any longer, to be Kenya's president.

During a Wiper Democratic Movement - Kenya, aspirants meeting at the Bomas of Kenya, Kalonzo said he could not entertain being 'number two' in the Nasa coalition.

"At 63-years of age, give me one reason of not becoming the president of Kenya! Time is not by my side.  My brother Raila (ODM party leader) made it very clear that anyone can be president, why would I delay that decision any further?'' he said.

"If you know if you put Kalonzo there Jubilee (ruling government) will go home, why waste time?'' he wondered, Monday.

Nasa which comprises of Kalonzo, Raila, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi is yet to pick the presidential flag bearer that will battle Jubilee administration out of government.

Wiper secretary general Hassan Omar alongside other party members also lobbied for their party leader's support, saying he was as equal as any Nasa principal, and should be given the ticket.

Machakos senator Johnston Muthama, Wiper chairman David Musila further called for calm in the coalition, saying the right candidate would be unveiled soon.
