Among the targeted beneficiaries were the persons living with disabilities, freedom fighters, elderly people, HIV orphaned victims and widows in the area.

They each got two packets of maize flour, wheat flour, sugar and cooking oil from Wanango who cited that his intention was to have them enjoy their Christmas day just like anybody else.

“I really felt bad when I was approached by several people who told me they did not have anything to eat for Christmas. I made a call for people to bring whatever they had to give out and the response was amazing. People really gave out a lot of food stuff,” said Wanango who paid a door to door visit to the residents, citing that they would plan better things come next year.

“This year we were targeting 400 families, but we got more than enough. Next year we will target at least 1000 families to help with food stuff,” added Wanango.

He also pledged to start a kitty that would go towards providing foods during Festive seasons for the people who could not afford it.

“Christmas is a time of giving and it’s important for us to reach out to everyone who is in need of help,” added MCA Wanango.
