TVETA has the mandate of regulating Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector through Licensing, Registration and Accreditation of institutions, programmes and trainers.

They discussed among other issues the accreditation of vocational training centres that are still pending in Mombasa.

"We believe that these centres upon their accreditation shall offer a great opportunity for our youths to acquire technical skills that would make their livelihoods sustainable," said Dr Kingi.

As a government the Deputy Governor said they had sourced for and recruited competent trainers in the vocational training centres to impart the necessary knowledge to the youth as prescribed by the TVETA curriculum.

"It is our hope that TVETA shall work closely with the department of education to facilitate quality learning in our institutions and in so doing help us achieve our vision of empowering our youths through vocational education and training," he said on Friday.
